At the top of the desktop is the application menu bar.

The application has five menus in the menu bar. The File menu contains options for reconnecting to the CCR database (Reconnect — if for some reason your connection times out — see Reconnecting When Your Session Has Timed Out) and for exiting the application (Exit — see Exiting the Application).

The Options menu allows the user to give universal commands to all of the open windows on the MPD desktop including options for cascading (reordering and moving them so that the active window is in front and the other windows are easily accessible behind the active one), minimizing, restoring all minimized windows (Show all windows), closing them or restarting the application from the opening Welcome window (Reset to default display — see Changing the Session Purpose).

There are also options for displaying the status of the CCR application as well as "About" windows displaying the basic application information and credits for CCR and the AltioLive helper application that runs in the background. Finally, there are commands in this menu for printing or displaying a print preview of the active window and adjusting the font size of the text on CCR's various windows — see Printing the Contents of a Window and Adjusting Font Sizes. Most of these commands will only rarely be used (if ever).

The Dictionaries menu has options relating to the application's dictionaries, for editing CCR's regular dictionaries (Edit Dictionaries) and its pathology dictionaries (Edit Pathology Dictionaries), and for refreshing all of the active windows to reflect changes made to those dictionaries (Refresh All) — see Dictionaries.

The QA menu provides access to CCR's quality assurance functions, specifically starting the modules that allow the user to view patients that are currently pending a QA review or to view those patients that have been marked as needing some kind of correction to their records — see Quality Assurance

The Import/Export menu gives access to the DEXT tool — HCI Research Informatics' natural language processing tool used to facilitate automatic data entry of some report information from Enterprise Data Warehouse pathology reports and other medical reports — see The ITS Enterprise Data Warehouse.

The Help menu, of course, provides direct access to this online help system for CCR. It also gives access to a user's permissions — not the ability to change those permissions, but to see what those permissions currently are.
