When you delete a cancer diagnosis from a patient record, any stage entries based on that diagnosis will also be deleted automatically. Any tumors that are linked to the diagnosis will no longer be linked to a diagnosis — see Linking a Tumor to a Diagnosis Record — but other than this, there will be no consequence for the tumor records.

To remove a diagnosis record from a patient:

Open the patient detail record for the patient in question. See Viewing/Editing a Patient Record for instructions on how to do this.

Make sure the Overview tab is selected.

Click on the diagnosis record that you want to remove in the Diagnosis grid on that tab. The selected row will be highlighted in yellow.

Click on the — button above the grid. A dialog will open asking you to confirm that you really want to delete the diagnosis record and any associated stage entries from the patient.

Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the diagnosis. The dialog will close and the selected diagnosis will be removed from the Diagnosis grid on the patient detail window. Any stage entries in the Stage/Status grid that are based on that diagnosis will also be removed from that grid.

If you change your mind and decide that you really don't want to delete the selected diagnosis record, click No and the dialog will close without any changes occurring in the database.
