To edit a specimen alias:
Open the Specimen Detail window for the specimen for which you want to edit the alias. See Viewing/Editing a Specimen in a Patient Record or Viewing/Editing a Specimen that is Associated with a Medical Event for instructions on how to do this.
Double-click on the alias you want to edit in the Specimen Alias grid. The Sample Alias Detail window will open displaying the information from the selected alias.
Make any necessary changes to the values in the Alias and/or Alias Type fields on this window. The Is Identifier? field (which is grayed out and cannot be edited directly) will be automatically updated if you make any changes to the value selected in the Alias Type field.
Click the Save button to save your changes. The window will close and the changes will be saved.
To close the window without saving any changes to the alias, click the Cancel button.
