This task can also be performed from the Study Consents grid of the patient detail window. See Editing a Patient Consent Record (Study Enrollment Window).

To edit a patient consent record:

1. Open the Edit Study Enrollment Data, Consents and Consent Forms window for the patient's enrollment in the study. See Viewing/Editing a Patient's Enrollment in a Study for instructions on how to do this. This window also opens automatically when a patient is newly added to a study — see Enrolling a Patient in a Study.

2. Double-click on the enrollment record you want to edit in the Consents grid on the window. The Edit the Consent on a Study Enrollment window will open displaying the selected consent's current data.

3. Make any necessary changes to the values recorded in the Consent Type, Consent Date and/or Expire Date fields on the window.

Although the Expire Date field is first filled in with a calculated value, you can still edit this value. Likewise, any changes made to the Consent Date field will not automatically change the value in the Expire Date field, so if the change in consent date also means there should be a change to the date when the consent will expire and the patient will need to be reconsented, you must change both the Consent Date and Expire Date fields to reflect these changes.

4. Click the Save button to save your changes. The window will close and the changes will be saved.

To close the window without saving any changes to the consent record, click the Cancel button.
