To add a medical care provider to a patient record:

Open the patient detail record for the patient in question. See Viewing/Editing a Patient Record for instructions on how to do this.

Make sure the Overview tab is selected.

Click on the + button above the Providers grid on that tab. The Add Provider window will open.

Click on the provider to be added to the patient record in the Providers grid on the Add Provider window. The row selected will be highlighted in yellow.

You may select multiple providers to add to the patient record at the same time, provided they all have the same provider role, by holding down the CTRL key on your keyboard and clicking on the additional providers so that all are selected. All providers added at the same time will initially be recorded with the same provider role and first seen date. These may be edited later by double-clicking on a provider in the grid and making the changes on the Edit Provider window when it appears.

If a provider does not appear in the Providers grid on the Add Provider window, they will need to be added to the Providers Dictionary before you can add them to the patient record — see Dictionaries. Speak with your cancer group administrator to have this done.

Select the role the provider plays in the patient's medical care in the Provider Role field.

Add the date the patient was first seen by the provider in the First Seen Date field.

Click on the Save button. The Add Provider window will close and the selected provider will be added to the Providers grid on the patient detail window.

To close the Add Provider window without adding a medical provider to the patient record, click on the Cancel button.
