There are three application-wide security roles. Every CCR user has at least one of these roles (most likely that of CCR User).

CCR User — This role is the basic role that is assigned to every user that is given access to the CCR database. This role allows a user to log in, however, to actually select a session purpose and access data within the application, the user must also be assigned to at least one cancer group and granted the appropriate privileges within that cancer group — see Cancer Group-Related Security Roles.

CCR Dictionary Editor — This role allows the user to access and edit CCR's common dictionaries — see Dictionaries. This role does not allow the user to make changes to the cancer group-specific dictionaries as these are maintained by the Cancer Group Administrator for each cancer group — see Cancer Group-Related Security Roles.

CCR Admin (System Administrator) — This role typically belongs to HCI Informatics personnel who support the application. It gives the widest range of access within the application and is intended to allow support personnel to test, maintain and — if necessary — make repairs in the CCR database.
