To break the link between a pair of medical events:

1. Open the Medical Event Detail window for the first medical event. See Viewing/Editing a Medical Event for instructions on how to do this.

2. Make sure the Overview tab is selected.

3. Click on the medical event that you want to unlink from the current medical event in the Associated Medical Events grid on that tab.

The selected row will be highlighted in yellow.

4. Click on the — button above the grid. A dialog will open asking you to confirm that you really want to unlink the selected medical event from the current one.

5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to break the link. The dialog will close and the selected medical event will be removed from the Associated Medical Events grid.

If you change your mind and decide that you really don't want to break the link, click No and the dialog will close without any changes occurring in the database.

When you do this, you are not deleting the selected medical event from the database. It will still appear on the Medical Events List grid on the Medical Events tab of the patient's detail window. You are simply removing the link between that medical event and the current medical event.
