To unlink a tumor record from a diagnosis:

1. Open the tumor detail record for the tumor in question. See Viewing/Editing a Tumor Record for instructions on how to do this.

2. Make sure the Overview tab is selected.

3. Click on the View / Link Diagnosis button. The Diagnosis Detail window for the diagnosis to which the tumor is linked will open. Show me the Diagnosis Detail window. For a description of the Diagnosis Detail window, see The Diagnosis Detail Window.

If the tumor is not currently linked to a diagnosis record, The Link Diagnosis window will open when you click on the View / Link Diagnosis button instead of the Diagnosis Detail window. In this case, there is nothing to unlink.

4. Click on the Unlink from Tumor button at the bottom of the Diagnosis Detail window. A dialog box will open asking you to confirm that you want to unlink the diagnosis from the current tumor.

5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to break the link. The dialog and the Diagnosis Detail window will both close and the link will be broken.

If you change your mind and decide that you really don't want to break the link, click No and the dialog will close without any changes occurring in the database.

By unlinking the tumor and diagnosis, you are not deleting either of these records. Both will still appear in their respective grids on the Overview tab of the patient detail window.

You are simply removing the link that has been established between them.
