Lab test results can be imported automatically into a patient record from the Enterprise Data Warehouse. The settings for lab test types for a cancer group are maintained in the Cancer Group Administration utility. By adding a lab test type to the cancer group, lab test results of that type can be suggested first for importing or even automatically imported as part of a script that runs on a regular basis instead of having a user initiate the import.

To set up a lab test type for a cancer group:

1. Start the Cancer Group Administration utility. See Starting the Cancer Group Administration Utility for instructions on how to do this.

2. Select the Lab Tests tab on the CCR Administration window.

3. Click on the + button above the Lab Tests grid on that tab. The Add / Edit Lab Test Type window will open.

4. Fill in the information about the new lab test type on the Add / Edit Lab Test Type window.

5. Click on the Save button to add the lab test type to the cancer group. The Add / Edit Lab Test Type window will close, and the new lab test type will be added to the Lab Tests grid on the CCR Administration window.

To close the Add / Edit Lab Test Type window without adding a lab test type to the cancer group, click the Cancel button instead of the Save button. If you have made any changes on the window, a dialog will open asking you to confirm that you want to close the window without saving your changes. Click Yes to continue to close the window or No to return to the Add / Edit Lab Test Type window.

As soon as you start entering data on the Add / Edit Lab Test Type window, the text on the Save button will turn bold red, indicating the need to click on the button to save your work.
