The itBioPath application is used to collect much more detailed information about a specimen collected from a patient than is recorded in CCR. Any specimen that is added to itBioPath will automatically show up in the Specimens grid of the patient it was collected from. Since they are linked to the itBioPath specimens, each of these CCR specimen records can be used to quickly access that specimen's itBioPath record from within CCR.
To do this:
1. Open the patient detail record for the patient in question. See Viewing/Editing a Patient Record for instructions on how to do this.
2. Select the Labs tab.
3. Click on the specimen whose itBioPath record you wish to access in the Specimens grid on that tab. The selected row will be highlighted in yellow.
4. Click on the View in Bio-Specimen Tracking button above the grid. The itBioPath application will start up and the itBioPath specimen detail window for the specimen in question will open.
