Lab tests can be linked to an associated medical event and will show up in that medical event's Tests grid on the Details tab of that medical event's Medical Event Detail window. Once the link is established, you can access the Test Result Detail window for the lab test directly from the medical event record by Double-clicking on that test in the grid.

You can add a new test result to this grid, and the lab test will also automatically be added to the Tests grid on the Labs tab of the patient's detail window — see Adding a Lab Test Result to a Medical Event and a Patient Record at the Same Time — or you can link to a lab test result that has been previously entered in the patient record — see Linking a Medical Event to a Previously Entered Lab Test Result Record.

When you remove a test from the Tests grid on the Medical Event Detail window, you are given the option of either removing it from the patient record as well or just from the medical event — see Removing a Lab Test Result from a Medical Event. If you delete a lab test on the patient window that is associated with a medical event, that test will also automatically be removed from the Tests grid on the associated Medical Event Detail window — see Deleting a Lab Test Result from a Patient Record.
