If you do not have access to an image from an imaging event, or if you simply do not wish to upload the image into the CCR database, you can make a record of the image without actually uploading it. If you do want to upload the image, see Uploading an Image from an Imaging Event.

To upload an image from an imaging event into the CCR database:

1. Open the Medical Event Detail window for the imaging medical event in question. See Viewing/Editing a Medical Event for instructions on how to do this.

2. Select the Imaging tab.

3. Click on the Upload an Image button above the Images grid on that tab.

The Add Image window will open in a separate window outside of the CCR desktop environment.

4. Click on the Click here if you do not have a image to upload checkbox to indicate that you will not actually be uploading an image. The Image field will be replaced by the File Name field.

5. Even though you will not be uploading the image, record the name of the image file in the File Name field.

6. Note the file's location in the Description field. If appropriate, also enter a description of the image in the field.

7. Click on the Upload Image button to upload the image file to the database.

The words Image upload successful. will appear in green on the Add Image window. The window will remain open to allow you to add or upload additional images.

To close the window without adding any images to the database, click the Close button instead of the Upload Form button.

8. If you have additional images for the current imaging event to add at this time, repeat steps 4 through 7 until all of the images have been added.

Do not add images from other imaging events at this time. All of the images that are uploaded will be linked to the current medical event.

9. When you are finished adding images, click the Close button to close the Add Image window. The Add Image window will close, but the newly added images will not yet appear in the Images grid on the Imaging tab of the Medical Event Detail window.

10. Click on the Refresh hyperlink above the Images grid on the Imaging tab of the Medical Event Detail window. The Images grid will be refreshed to show all of the images that have been added to the current medical event.
