Specimens can be linked to an associated medical event and will show up in that medical event's Specimens grid on the Details tab of that medical event's Medical Event Detail window. Once the link is established, you can access the Specimen Detail window for the specimen directly from the medical event record by Double-clicking on that specimen's row in the grid.

If a specimen to be associated with the medical event also needs to be added manually to a patient record (because it won't be imported automatically from itBioPath), you can add that new specimen to this grid, and the specimen will also automatically be added to the Specimens grid on the Labs tab of the patient's detail window — see Adding a Specimen to a Medical Event. If the specimen already appears in the patient record, you can establish a link to that specimen so that you can access it from the medical event as needed — see Linking a Medical Event to an Existing Specimen in the Patient Record.

When you remove a specimen from this grid, you are given the option of either removing it from the patient record as well (as long as it's not an itBioPath specimen) or just from the medical event — see Removing a Specimen from a Medical Event. If you delete a specimen on the patient window that is associated with a medical event, that specimen will also automatically be removed from the Specimens grid on the associated Medical Event Detail window — see Removing a Specimen from a Patient Record.
