A history of specimen transformations that includes all parents, children and siblings of a specimen (including multiple generations if applicable) is displayed in the Transformed Specimens tree on the Related Specimens tab of the Specimen window.

transformedspecimenstree

This view gives a comprehensive view of the relationship between all of the samples transformed from an originally collected sample. In order to have a complete picture of the specimen relationship, the current specimen will also be listed in the Transformed Specimens tree. Child specimens are all grouped under their parent in the tree, so the relationship of these transformations is represented by the different levels of the tree. Each branch or level of the tree may be collapsed (to hide the children) or expanded (to display the children) by clicking on the triangle to the left of the parent sample for that branch. All samples that are related by such transformations will also appear in the Specimens in the Same Collection list on this tab, since a specimen and all of its transformations will have originally been collected as part of a single collection. When you click on a sample that is related by transformation to the current sample in either list, that sample will be highlighted in both lists. (Of course, other samples collected in the same collection event but not related by transformation to the current specimen will also appear in this list.) The Specimen window for any specimen in either list may be opened simply by double-clicking on that specimen in the list. See Transforming a Specimen for instructions on how to create a specimen record for a transformed specimen.
