Some of the data collected about a specimen applies to all specimens that are collected in the same collection event (but not necessarily all specimens collected from the same patient). This data is kept and edited in the collection record. Although some collection information is displayed on the patient window and specimen window, it cannot be edited in those windows. Edit collection information on the Collection window. Any changes made to collection information will be reflected in all specimens collected in the same collection event. To access the collection record:

  • Do one of the following:
    • Open the patient record for the patient the collection event refers to. Next, double-click on the collection in question on the Collections/Specimens grid of the Consents/Specimens tab, or
