In itBioPath, a tool is provided to import samples from the UUMC database. The values being imported are the patient's specimen consent record based on the UUHSC Pathology status, rather than an actual tissue record. The records found may indicate available tissue, but that is not a guarantee. To import these consented samples:

  • Select Edit > Add Specimens > ITS Import from the menu bar at the top of the itBioPath application window.

  • The Import Consented Samples From ITS window will open with the list of potential ITS records to import.
  • Select a record in the list of potential samples for import and click on the ITS… button that will appear in the bottom center of the window. The ITS Clinical Records for Patient window will appear, which allows you to review that patient's records.
  • If you want to import a patient's specimen records from ITS, check the box on the left side of that patient's row on the Import Consented Samples From ITS window.
  • To remove a patient record from consideration without importing their specimens, select the patient row and click on the Remove button.
  • Once you have selected the specimens you want to import, click on the Import button in the lower right corner of the window.
