Often a disbursed specimen is actually being shipped to another location outside of HCI. itBioPath can keep a record of the actual shipment of disbursed specimens, including keeping a record of the tracking number, carrier, shipping date, shipping address, sender, receiver, temperature shipped at and the current status of the shipment. To record the shipment of a specimen that is disbursed individually:

  • Record the disbursement as would normally be done — see Disbursing a Single Specimen.
  • ClickScreen Shot 2015-05-26 at 12.49.37 PM. A dialog will open asking you to confirm the disbursement details.

  • Enter the appropriate shipping information on the Shipment Detail window.
    • Notice that the Batch ID number is displayed in the upper left corner of the Shipment Detail window. Usually disbursements from a single specimen are not assigned a batch ID, but when there is a shipment involved, the batch number is assigned and refers to just that one specimen.
