When a query is selected from the folder on the left, more information will appear on the right side of the window. This happens whether it be a new query created from scratch, a query copied from a pre-existing query or the pre-existing query itself. If you are not the owner of the query, most of the fields will be grayed out and you will not be permitted to make any changes to the query. However, as mentioned above, you can make a copy of the query and make your alterations at that point (since you will be the owner of the copy). Some basic information about the query is displayed at the top of the data group, and there are also two sections with query settings on them ('Find' and 'Display'). The Run Query button is used to run the query once the parameters are set up the way you want them. You may run a query, make changes and then run the query again until it appears the way you want it to. Changes to the 'Find' and 'Display' sections will be automatically saved.
