After disbursing a batch of specimens the specimens may not be shipped immediately. In such cases, a shipment record will need to be created separate from recording the disbursement. To create a shipment record for an existing disbursement:
- Open the Search Shipment window by selecting Edit-Specimen Shipment from the application menu.
- Enter the Batch ID for the batch that has already been disbursed in the Batch ID field.
- Click
. Since the disbursed batch has not yet had a shipment associated with it, the shipment will not appear in the Shipment List.

- Click. The Shipment Detail window will open, populated with the disbursed aliquots from the previously entered batch disbursement.
- Enter the appropriate shipping information on the Shipment Detail window.
- Click
to save the new shipment record.
- Click
to close the Shipment Detail window. As the shipping status changes and other changes occur, you will be able to return to the shipment record to record those changes
