Registering a specimen with a project does not actually disburse any of that specimen to the project. It does, however, give users who have permissions related to that project the ability to see some data about the specimen that they might not have been able to see previously. Often a specimen will be registered to a project during the process in which the specimen was added to the database. However, if this has not happened for a specific specimen, it is easy to add the project registration to the specimen record. To register a specimen to a project:
- Open the specimen record.
- Select the Aliquots/Projects tab.
- Click on the button above the Project Registrations table. The Add Registration dialog will open.
- Select the project to register the specimen to in the Project drop-down field.
- Enter any comments or change the registration date if appropriate.
- Clickto save the new registration. The project registration will be added to the Project Registrations table.
