itBioPath provides a number of tools for searching the database records. The results of these searches are always specimen-centric. In other words, a list of specimens will be returned, regardless of whether the search criteria is based on data that is collected at the patient, collection or individual specimen level. Of course, the specimens returned can also lead to specific patient or collection records if your purpose is to view or edit data at those levels.
