Any time a Huntsman patron asks a question via phone, email/mail or in person and requires the skills of a Cancer Information Specialist (CIS) to respond to the inquiry, the interaction is logged into the Cancer Inquiry Database (CID).

• One-on-one personal interactions are logged using the Inquiry Log tab.
• Indirect, bulk, or group education (health fairs, presentations, clinics provided with brochures and information provided from a display) is logged using the Outreach Log tab.

It is extremely important for thorough and accurate records to be entered into this database for all CIS interactions. Reports are pulled from this database to demonstrate the HCI value as Health Educators.

Features Include:

• Inquiry Log – This is where the CIS enters personal interactions.
• Five tabs allow for Person, Inquiry, Statistics, Address and Send out information to be captured.
• Various fields can be used for searching records such as Case ID, Patron's Last Name, Patron's Email Address, etc.
• Outreach Log – This is where the CIS enters indirect, bulk, or group education activities such as health fair attendance, presentations given, and pamphlet distribution.
• Five tabs allow for Event, Location, Contact, Statistics and Products information to be captured.
• Inquiry Reports – A robust list of reports is available for running against Inquiries received. The reports can be filtered by date and searched by a plethora of demographic information such as Age, Education, Cancer Type, Response Type, etc. Reports by County, Materials and Location are also available.
• Outreach Reports – A list of reports is available for Outreach performed. The reports can be filtered by date and searched by all types of outreach such as Events, Packets, Presentations, Displays, etc.
• Security – Rights and access to CID is granted following HCI's strict security policy.
